AEST and AEDT — Australian Eastern Time

The live current time in Australian Eastern Time, and what the abbreviation actually means. AEST and AEDT are the winter and summer halves of the same zone, which is why a bare AEST label is ambiguous for half the year.

AEST is Australian Eastern Standard Time, UTC+10. AEDT is Australian Eastern Daylight Time, UTC+11. Australian Eastern Time uses AEST in winter and AEDT in summer, switching on the first Sunday in October and the first Sunday in April.
